This red, cylindrical concrete lighthouse stands 8 meters tall, with its light at a focal height of 13 meters. Completed in 2018, it is situated at the seaward end of a groin, a structure designed to maintain the broad beach north of Mohang Hang. The lighthouse emits a single red flash every six seconds, providing a range of 11.3 nautical miles. Its design includes a lantern and gallery atop the round tower. While the site is accessible to the public, the tower itself is closed.
Why it matters: The lighthouse guides vessels approaching Mohang Hang and helps define safe navigation channels in the area. Its placement on the groin aids maritime safety and the ecological stability of the nearby beach.
