About Lyökki Lighthouse
The Lyökki daybeacon, a cylindrical stone tower, was built in 1757. Located on the island of Lyökki, it is situated about 3 kilometers southwest of Hylkkari. The structure is painted in a distinctive red and white checkered pattern. Standing 22 meters tall, it was designed solely as a visual aid for daytime navigation. The daybeacon has never been equipped with a light, maintaining its original function. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed.
