Liūwǎngzhòng Lighthouse is a 14.5-meter round concrete tower built in 1967. It stands on an island off the northwestern tip of Táohuādǎo. The structure has a gallery and is painted white. Its light emits a single white flash every six seconds. The lighthouse replaced an earlier navigational aid established in 1952. Its focal plane is 16 meters above sea level, and it can be seen for 12.2 nautical miles.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is critical for safe passage around the northwestern tip of Táohuādǎo, an area presenting navigational challenges for local shipping. Its consistent light aids mariners in avoiding island shores and navigating coastal routes.
