The structure consists of a 14-meter cylindrical tower with a single green horizontal band, rising from an equipment building on a concrete pier. It emits a green flash every 6 seconds, visible for over 11 nautical miles. This light now serves the channel's entrance, a duty formerly carried out by the lightship Huron. The lighthouse itself is not open to the public, but its surrounding grounds are accessible.
