This lighthouse stands on the eastern end of Kōbe Breakwater Seven, a concrete barrier protecting Kōbe harbor. The cylindrical white concrete tower measures 20 meters in height, with its light positioned at the same elevation. It emits a green flash every three seconds, serving as a navigational aid for vessels entering the port. The lighthouse is situated between Breakwater Seven and the Nishinomiya Breakwater to the east, marking a primary entrance channel. Its location on the breakwater makes it accessible only by sea, and it is not open to the public.
Why it matters: The lighthouse guides vessels through a main entrance into Kōbe harbor, a critical channel for one of Japan's busiest ports and its significant shipping operations.
