The structure, described as round and barbell-shaped, replaced an earlier skeletal tower. It emits a white light with one flash every 15 seconds. The lighthouse is located on a steep hillside overlooking the base of the Giresun breakwater, with a geographic range of 26 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, though the tower remains closed.
