About Eaton'S Neck Lighthouse
Constructed in 1798 and designed by John McComb, Jr., the Eaton's Neck Light stands 43.9 meters tall. Its focal plane is 44 meters above sea level. The white tower emits a white flashing light with a geographic range of 14 nautical miles. The light's characteristic is a single white flash. This lighthouse has been operational since its completion.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is one of only two 18th-century lighthouses still standing in New York State.
