This cylindrical stone tower stands 21 meters tall on a reef approximately 3.25 kilometers northeast of Château d'Oléron, exposed at low tide. Originally built in 1845, the structure was substantially modified, including an increase in height and an expanded concrete base around its stone foundation. A light was first installed in 1911, and the tower now features a modern, solar-powered lantern. Its geographic range is 11 nautical miles. The light displays three quick white and green flashes every 10 seconds. A diamond-shaped daymarker tops the lantern, and the tower is painted black with a single broad yellow band below the gallery.
