About Cedar Lake Lighthouse
Also known as: Cedar Lake (Lighthouse Restaurant)
A copper lantern crowns a two-story waterfront restaurant building on the shores of Cedar Lake. This structure, first lit in 2009, stands 12 meters above the water. Its white light provides a continuous beam, visible for 11 nautical miles. The lighthouse is situated at East Lakeshore Drive and Constitution Avenue in the town of Cedar Lake, Indiana. The restaurant building itself serves as the foundation for this navigational aid. While visitors can access the site, the lantern structure is not open to the public.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is notable for its unique integration into a commercial establishment, the Lighthouse Restaurant, serving as a distinctive landmark on Cedar Lake.
