About Brunskär Range Rear Lighthouse
Brunskär Range Rear is a 21-meter-high skeletal concrete tower. The structure features a red and yellow vertical stripe daymark. Its light, located 24 meters above sea level, displays an occulting white or yellow flash every 6 seconds. This marker is situated on a skerry, about 7 kilometers northeast of the Porvoo light, and serves as the rear element of a range for ships entering Porvoo. Public access is permitted to the site, but not the tower.
Why it matters: This light functions as the second alignment point for ships entering Porvoo, providing navigation through the islands of the archipelago.
