Constructed in 1985, this 12-meter tall square skeletal tower of steel incorporates a gallery and an enclosed shelter at its foundation. Its exterior is marked by black and white horizontal bands. The light, situated 54 meters above sea level, flashes white every 5 seconds and can be seen for approximately 19.3 nautical miles. This structure is located roughly 4 km northeast of the Andaman Strait's entrance, a waterway separating South Andaman and Middle Andaman Islands. Access is exclusively via watercraft.
Why it matters: The lighthouse marks the Andaman Strait, serving as a reference point for vessels navigating between South Andaman and Middle Andaman Islands.
