A cylindrical red tower stands 11 meters tall at the end of the west breakwater of Noheji port. Built in 1954, it was first lit the same year. The lighthouse emits a red flash every six seconds, visible for 11 nautical miles. Its focal height is 12 meters above sea level. The structure, which includes a lantern and gallery, is painted red and is located at the southern end of Noheji Bay. This bay forms the eastern basin of the larger Mutsu Bay.
Why it matters: This lighthouse is important for the safe entry and departure from the port of Noheji, clearly marking the west breakwater for vessels navigating Noheji Bay.
