An Thới Lighthouse, a cylindrical concrete structure, stands 14 meters tall and was built in 1994. Its tower features red and white horizontal bands, while the accompanying house is painted yellow with white trim. The light emits a white flash every 6 seconds from a focal height of 80 meters, providing a geographic range of 22.6 nautical miles. The lighthouse has a round concrete tower with a lantern and a double gallery. While the site is open to visitors, the tower itself is closed to the public. It is located on the southern tip of Phú Quốc Island.
Why it matters: This lighthouse warns vessels of the many islands and reefs near the southern end of Phú Quốc, guiding traffic through these dangerous waters. Its distinct red and white bands provide easy identification during daylight.
