About Skardholmen Lighthouse
Also known as: #Skardholmen (Oddeholen)
The Skardholmen lighthouse was a white, square tower standing 6 meters tall, with a focal height of 13 meters. It featured a red lantern roof and a gallery. This structure guided mariners on a passage south of a small island near Jøstølen, west of Smøla. Its light produced a single blue flash. The lighthouse ceased operation in 2022 and has since been removed from its location. While the site is accessible, the tower itself is no longer present.
Why it matters: This lighthouse marked the passage leading to Jøstølen on the west coast of Smøla.
