It emits a single red flash every three seconds, visible for up to 9.1 nautical miles. The site is open to the public, though the tower itself is closed. This navigational aid is situated approximately 0.8 kilometers from the nearest port of Naha.
Why it matters: The red flash marks the starboard side of the channel, guiding vessels safely into Naha's busy inner harbor. The distinctive building also serves as a visual landmark for approaching mariners.
