About Mugi Saki Lighthouse
This lighthouse, constructed of concrete in 1975, stands on a promontory pointing south. The cylindrical white tower, 16 meters high, is topped with a lantern and gallery and rises from a single-story equipment room. Its light emits an isophase white signal every 6 seconds, visible for 14.9 nautical miles. The structure's focal height reaches 28 meters above sea level. The site is open to the public, but visitors cannot enter the tower.
Why it matters: This lighthouse assists vessels navigating past the promontory it marks, southwest of Daio Saki, and has continuously operated since 1975.
